One-to-One Sessions with Sherab Chödrön
Combining Meditation and Buddhist Thinking
AVAILABLE LIVE ONLINE, from anywhere in the world (or in-person when we are open)
When do you give yourself the time to sit and consider the most important questions of life? To truly reflect on why you are here and whether you are living life as you want to? How do you make sense of your experiences and use that understanding to create a purposeful, fulfilling life?
It is very rare to take the “hero’s journey” to the Self, but it is something we all need to do, both for our own sake and for those we love. It’s why we are here. Exploring the deeper themes of life is not a luxury—it is a vital necessity. If we are going to get the most out of life, we must cultivate a sense of purpose, rather than being constantly buffeted by the storms of existence.
Perhaps you’ve tried mindfulness at work or in a local hall. It may have been good while it lasted, but now you feel like you’ve stalled. Maybe you’ve pushed forward, thinking you’ll make time for yourself later—perhaps as a new year’s resolution or by using an app to numb your stress and help you sleep. More likely, you’re juggling so many demands that it’s hard to find time for your own needs. But how can you be fully available to others or your work if you are running on empty?
Imagine what it would be like to live without stress, to feel calm and content no matter the circumstances. Tarastone Buddhist meditation practice offers a deep and nourishing approach, full of techniques that go far beyond sitting and “doing nothing.” These methods can become part of your life toolkit, helping you navigate challenges with clarity and ease.
The Buddhist science of mind is logical, rational, and its benefits are backed by scientific validation. It’s not therapy, and it’s not religion in the typical sense of worshipping something external. Buddha was a man, not a god, who reached enlightenment, showing the potential we all have to do the same. You do not have to be a Buddhist to benefit from these practices; they can enhance any spiritual practice, or none at all.
There are no prerequisites—no special positions or beliefs you must hold. You can start exactly where you are, and we will guide you as far as feels right for you. Each session is different and is skillfully tailored to your individual progress. Through Buddhist philosophy and meditation, we will create an experience that transforms confusion and stress into calm and lightness, giving you the tools to apply what you’ve learned for the rest of your life.
If this journey resonates with you, having a guide with 30 years of experience can make all the difference. At Tarastone, our Spiritual Director, Sherab Chödrön, leads the One-to-One program both online and in person. She translates Buddhist philosophy into practical, relatable insights for your life—whether or not you choose to carry a religious context. You can read more about Sherab [here].
Building a sustainable meditation practice is no easy feat. It requires time, patience, and skill, as well as the support of an experienced teacher who helps you observe your patterns and evolve over time.
Each class begins with a discussion on Buddhist philosophy and how it applies to your own life, followed by a meditation session tailored specifically to that day’s topics. These teachings build upon one another, creating progress over a series of ten classes, rather than repeating the same lesson every week.
If group meditation classes don’t fit your needs, these one-to-one sessions may be ideal. They can be scheduled at your convenience and offer the freedom to explore your own themes at your own pace.
You may book a taster session of 60 minutes for £60. However, going forward, it is necessary to book a term of ten classes. These are exceptional value for bespoke, one-to-one training, at £600 for 10 sessions of 90 minutes each.
