Tarastone is a stone building that forms the corner of the A30 and Barber’s Lane. The entrance is on Barber’s Lane, through wooden gates.
PLEASE NOTE: SATNAV/GPS will usually take you to Downside Garage – a few hundred yards west of us. We suggest you programme for Barber’s Lane (in Swallowcliffe, NOT Salisbury) where it crosses with the A30. (some GPS recognise this as Loder’s Lane). From Shaftesbury and the west: Travel east on the A30 towards Salisbury. After Ansty, look out for Downside Garage on the left. Take the next left, signposted “Swallowcliffe Light Vehicles Only” – you are now looking at Tarastone. Entrance is immediately on the right, through the wooden gates.
From Salisbury, London and the east: Travel west on the A30 towards Shaftesbury. IGNORE the first two right turnings to Swallowcliffe. The second of those is in a dip with a grass triangle. KEEP GOING PAST THIS ON THE A30, bending left then right and going uphill into more open ground. Look for a red triangular sign that indicates a right turn – we suggest you indicate right at this point. Tarastone is the very next building on the right. You will see a stone wall first. Turn IMMEDIATELY after that building and see the wooden gates on your right. Turn in there.
